My 4 Kids and More with a #LinkyParty

Welcome to my Picture Perfect
Party Linky #194!

This past weekend was a blast! We had a family reunion and my hubby turned 50. I'll be doing a neat series on my travel blog where I share my favorite moments of our time in the Franschhoek Wine Valley. Today's photos are of my kids and the roses that my mother-in-law bought to decorate the table for Friday night's dinner. Jeremiah wasn't even supposed to be at the reunion. He has three weeks left before the end of second term. My in-laws secretly bought his return bus ticket. It was my very own "Oprah moment." We were sad that he wasn't going to be there, but then he popped out of hiding and surprised us!

Hubby's 50th Birthday!

This is just a quick blog post to let my readers know that I'm not available this weekend and won't be hosting my usual weekend blog hop. I'm sure you'll understand, since it's not everyday that your hubby turns 50! We are having a family reunion in a really cool location. The reunion is to honor Hubby's aunt who turned 70 on Thursday and Robbie who turned 50 today. Good food, beautiful location, and special people equals a fabulous time. Wishing you all a great weekend too!

Family Fun at the Nuy Valley Feast with #Linky

Welcome to my Picture Perfect
Party Linky #193!

Last Tuesday I mentioned that we would be going on Saturday to the annual Nuy Valley Feast. I'm sharing a few photos from that event here. We had so much fun that we couldn't believe how quickly the time flew by. I have also included the link to my latest post on 1camera1mom (my travel blog) where you can see more photos of our day's outing.

This photo of Amanda in the beautiful Nuy Valley
is a little fuzzy. I didn't use a flash and the
light wasn't very good. The sun had not
yet made a proper appearance.

Dragons are Real with a $100 Giveaway!

Dragons Are Real
Blog Tour with a
$100 Giveaway!

About the Book:

Title: Dragons are Real | Author: Valarie Budayr | Illustrator: Michael Welply | Publisher: Audrey Press | Publication Date: May 5, 2016 | Genre: Children's Picture Book | Number of Pages: 32

Amazon Book Description:

What if I told you that all of the fairy tales, myths and legends that have been told about dragons over the years are WRONG? What if I told you that Dragons are indeed REAL and that they are different than you've ever imagined ? Did you know that Dragons are the master of disguises? Did you know that they love sugar and sweets (at unacceptable levels) and will do anything for treats? Award winning author Valarie Budayr brings us this fairly true story based on her childhood friendship with a REAL live Dragon.

Take a peek inside the book...

My Review:

Dragons are Real is a fun and vivid picture book that will spark a child's imagination. Amanda had three things that she liked about this book: 1.) she thought that it was very funny, 2.) she enjoyed finding the dragons hidden in the pictures, and 3.) she liked that the dragons had human characteristics. When I was finished reading to her, she began imagining the dragons that were hiding in the room. She even said that I was the dragon who wrote the book in a mom disguise.

I also thought the story was funny and I loved the stunning illustrations. It was an engaging tale that had us both entertained. I highly recommend this book for boys and girls ages 4 - 9.

Water is Life with a Weekend #Linky

Welcome to my weekend blog hop -
Make My Saturday Sweet #175!

Today's post is about the importance of water. It follows on from last weekend where I shared some of my favorite photos that I had taken of the Atlantic Ocean and a neat project that can clean up our oceans. If you missed it, you can check it out at Our Beautiful Oceans.

Today's two photos are of my fountain that is in our front garden. They were taken last year. Many of you will know that we have been on water restrictions. We weren't allowed to water our gardens or use the hose pipe to fill our pools or wash our cars. We switched the fountain off and so it doesn't look like this at the moment. The good news is that a couple of days ago we were told that the water restrictions were lifted.

We can live without electricity, but we can't live without water. Water is life! I picked out two interesting YouTube videos about water. You can watch both of them together in less than five minutes, so I hope you take a moment to check them out!

Family Fun in the Nuy Valley with #Linky

Welcome to my Picture Perfect
Party Linky #192!

I'm excited about this upcoming weekend. The annual Nuy Valley Feast will be held this Saturday. It's fun for the whole family. You park your car at any of the four participating venues and then take a tractor ride to the olive farm and three neighboring wine farms. There's a small fee with a wine glass included and free wine tasting! It's also one of the most beautiful valleys in the area. The photos below were taken at last year's event.
